Stretching your dog should be done regularly, a minimum of three times a week. Stretches should not be done when the muscles are hot or cold. Your dog’s muscles should be warm. Stretching should never be done before exercise. A good time is within 10 minutes after a walk or 30 minutes following strenuous activity. There are three areas of your dog’s body where stretching is especially beneficial- the hips, shoulders, and back.
